Lock Picking By Shoedog Essays - Locksmithing, Lock Picking, Lock

Lock Picking By Shoedog Lock Picking Lock picking is an art in its entirety. It takes lots of hard work, practice, and patience to pick a lock. Being able to sit in one place for a long time doing something that at first seems hopeless is the key to learning how to pick a lock. In the world of locks there are probably 1000's of different locks. The most common type of lock is the pin tumbler lock. Since this type of lock is the most commonly used lock, this is what I will use to teach the basics of lock picking. To start things off you must first learn how a lock works. The most basic of locks as stated above is the pin tumbler lock. A tumbler lock has a plug and shell with usually five pins with spring tension. Each pin has two parts, a top pin and a bottom pin. Both of which are held in a groove by a spring. As a key is inserted, the two pin parts are aliened to what is called the shear line. When the key is fully inserted into the key way all of the pins aliened to the shear line. Thus this turns the key freely between the plug and the shell along the shear line. Before you begin to pick a lock you need some basic tools. I might suggest for a beginner to start out with simply a safety pin and a very tiny Philips head screwdriver or a paper clip. First open up your safety pin to about a 60 degree angle. Then bend the very tip of the safety pin to approximately a 55 degree angle. This will be your pick. Next bend the tip of the screwdriver to an 85 degree angle or do the same with a paper clip. This will be your tension wrench. Now that you have your tools you a ready to pick your first lock! The mechanics of lock picking all lie in a very tiny error in nearly all locks. As tension is applied in usually a clock word direction the pin binds. This makes it possible to pick a lock one pin at a time. Another way to bind a pin is by applying sheer force. In which you push the plug into the shell with a slight direct pressure as you torque the plug clockwise with a tension wrench. As a pin is pushed up with the pick the top pin slides over the plug while the bottom pin drops below the sheer line into the plug. Thus by this action each pin is set one at a time. Now that you understand the physics of lock picking the rest will be easy. Your first step in picking a lock all lies on the tension wrench. I could never emphasize the importance of how you handle this tool so pay extra special attention to what I have to say. Your first step is to place the wrench into the bottom part of the key way. Gently put a clockwise torque to the wrench. If you are right handed do this with your left hand. Next take you safety pin or pick and insert it all of the way to the back of the key way. Now at this point there are two things you can do. The first of which is to push up each individual pin as you use torque on the wrench. As you do this be very sure to put equal tension on the torque as the tension on the springs have on your pick. Secondly and my personal favorite method is to slide the pick across the pins in a scrubbing motion. Try to combine both these picking styles as you pick. When the top of the key pin reaches the sheer line you will feel the plug give slightly. This is called a set pin. The way you know when a pin is set is when it shakes loosely without the pressure of the spring. It will also make a jiggling sound when shaken. Try to be relaxed as possible and over use your sense of hearing and touch. This all may take awhile, but it

buy custom Schizophrenia Disorder essay

buy custom Schizophrenia Disorder essay Schizophrenia disorder refers to an uncommon condition in which a person manifests two or more personalities. Weiten indicated that schizophrenia disorders entail a group of disorders marked by delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, and deterioration of adaptive behaviour (Weiten 418). On the other hand, Warner defined schizophrenia as a psychosis that is a severe mental disorder in which a persons ability to recognize reality and his or her emotional responses, thinking processes, judgment and ability to communicate are so affected that his or her functioning is seriously impaired (Warner 4). He continues to say that hallucinations and delusions are frequent features of psychosis (Warner 4). In their definition, Tsuang, Faraone and Glatt described schizophrenia as a disabling disease in which those affected experience altered thoughts, perceptions, emotions and behaviours (Tsuang, Faraone and Glatt 1). Schizophrenia disorder generally involves noticeable decline in quality of the persons everyday functioning in work, social relations and individual care. Individual suffering from schizophrenia experience distorted perception (Weiten 418). The most common type of distorted perception is auditory hallucinations. Hallucinations refer to sensory sensitivities that occur in the deficiency of a real, exterior stimulus or are gross deformations of perceptual input (Weiten 418). Delusions also occur in schizophrenia in which they present the individual the sense that he or she is being contolled by outside strengths or that his or her thoughts are being relayed or interfered with (Warner 5). Smythies articulated that schizophrenia is an illness where afflicted individuals have great obscurity interacting with adapting to the surroundings (Smythies 22). The common discrepancy symptoms of schizophrenia include poor eye contact, flat, effect and withdrawal. In this context, Smythies noted tha t afflicted persons are both perceiving misinterpreted sensory stimuli and reacting dysfunctional to appropriately receive sensory information (Smythies 22). Because neuroplasticity entails the capability of the brain to respond in an activity dependent manner or particular stimuli, schizophrenia may be considered of as a disorder of dysfunctional neuroplasticity. According to Tsuang, Faraone and Glatt schizophrenia is a mental illness which has major effects for affected individuals, their families and society (Tsuang, Faraone and Glatt 1). The disturbance of such basic facets of life can be crippling, resulting in a lifetime of disability, periodic hospitalization and a failure of family and social relationships. These relationships are often disrupted as a direct effect of the affected individuals withdrawal and inability to communicate which may alternate with bouts of disruptive behaviour (Tsuang, Faraone and Glatt 1). Studies indicate that the onset of schizophrenia is typically post pubertal, commonly occurring when an individual is in the later years of high school or just beginning college (Smythies 200). In addition the onset of positive and negative symptoms in a previously normally functioning person, coupled with a lifetime of waxing and waning symptoms. This is also accompanied by the possibility of a steady decline in social, occupational and cognitive functioning (Smythies 20). Schizophrenia is a devastating condition that affects over 2 million people in the United States and over 50 million people worldwide (Smythies 20). Hogarty noted that violence is less common among those who have schizophrenia than in the general population (Hogarty 154). Although schizophrenia has been studied and researched for over a century much remains unknown about its origins, development, pathology and treatment. The advancement in unravelling these mysteries has increased in the last four decades (Tsuang, Faraone and Glatt 1). Present approaches view schizophrenia as a point or endpoint on a variety of uncharacteristic mental functioning rather than a distinct disease entity. This view has in turn changed the way in which the treatment and care of schizophrenia is approached (Tsuang, Faraone and Glatt 1). It is important to note that the ever increasing depth and breadth of our indulgent of schizophrenia as a discrete or diverse analysis has also had turnaround effects. This is because with ever increasing knowledge of the basis of schizophrenia, inroads have been developed into revealing the definite pathologies and treatments of other schizophrenia spectrum disorders by their equivalence to schizophrenia explicit features. Ecommerce and the Death of the Retail Store Research Paper

Ecommerce and the Death of the Retail Store - Research Paper Example , despite the positive advantages e-commerce offers consumers in the world today, it has also had negative ramification that has seen the collapse of traditional historical stores. Therefore, it would be wise if all stores embrace the new culture and market for their goods online For instance, it is easy to blame firms such Amazon and eBay for the collapse of most traditional bookstores. Broadly speaking it is true that that independent and local retailers have failed to adapt to challenges they have faced over the pars five decades because on the instant change in consumer behavior that E-commerce has caused. I was only a few yet ago when Companies such as HMV were accused of profiteering over other retailers and now they are victims to ecommerce. They have fallen foul to the efficiency and effectiveness that online shopping marketers provide. It is also evident that most current down town and high street stores are under siege to online retailers. For example, brick and mortar business are currently at the edge been dissolved due to the economies of large scale and lack of effective strategies when distributing their product. What they always fail to realize is that if they market through the internet or advertise their product online they will be able to determine their unique strong market points. It will also reduce the expenses of transporting products to different areas so as to search for its market. (Naughto, J. 2000). Also change in consumer behavior as result of E-commerce has made them not to re that despite the good experience that online marketing and purchase can offer; it is nothing comparable to the shopping expire nice traditional sores offered. Moreover, can it replace three slightest experiences and pleasure that handling and accessing a product offered? This makes consumes to prejudice and shun from physically visiting shopping store despite the good services that might be on offer. (Ellis, S. 2014). E-commerce also offers customers with

Valuation and Investment Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Valuation and Investment - Term Paper Example More than 60 percent of the potential customers come from US alone. Carnival is a 23.78 billion company by market capitalization. It has 100 ships in its possession and runs 15 hotels comprising of 3420 guest rooms. The company also possesses 395 motor coaches. The company markets its vacation tours through travel agents and operators. The company gets competition from several smaller cruise liners but due to scale of operations the company is in better position to weather them. (Carnival Corporation 2011) Compared to Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean (RCL) is a smaller company with market capitalization of only $5 billion; however, RCL claims to have the newest fleet in the industry that provides a lot more open space in their fleets. Operationally, they are smaller than Carnival Cruise but hope to pick them fast. Royal Caribbean manages 40 ships and handles traffic of almost 4 million passengers. The Celebrity Cruises segment is meant for premium customers. This segment comprises 9 shi ps and offers some of the premium services. (Royal Caribbean 2011) Financials It will be appropriate to go through the financials of both the company. The following table shows side by side some of the important key parameters. Some Key Financials Cruise Corporation (CCL) Royal Caribbean (RCL) Market Cap (intraday) 23.78bn 5.06bn Current Ratio (mrq) 0.23 0.40 Total Debt/Equity (mrq) 41.26 103.7 Operating Cash Flow (ttm) 3.82billion 1.42billion Qtrly Earnings Growth (yoy) -18.30% 74.0% Trailing P/E (ttm) 12.53 8.71 200-Day Moving Average 38.41 38.41 52-Week High 48.14 49.99 52-Week Low 29.36 23.03 Beta 1.53 3.19 Source: http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=CCL http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=RCL Liquidity The above table displays some of the important liquidity ratios for both the company. On liquidity ground the Cruise Corporation stands better than Royal Caribbean as debt-equity and current ratio both are higher in the case of Royal Caribbean; however, the reason for this lies in the recent addition of some of the luxury ships in its fleet increasing its long term debt. Obviously, this has also reflected in its earnings growth too. Earnings Growth As per the quarterly earnings growth, Royal has displayed an impressive 74 % year to year growth against the negative earnings shown by Cruise Corporation. This indicates that though Cruise has larger fleet to cater to the vacation needs, the segment to which it serves is price sensitive and the Cruise is unable to raise its effective rates due to recessionary conditions. The situation for the CCL may improve with the change in economic conditions as being envisaged after nine months and then higher vacation charges may improve the earnings. Nevertheless, robust growth of the economy is not envisaged in near future so the advantage of booming economy that CCL may have because of its larger fleet and capacity to handle larger traffic is several years away. Risk Perception by Market CCL commands higher P/E compared t o RCL as can be seen from the above table. Risk perception (Beta) by market for RCL is much higher than CCL as later commands smaller Beta of 1.53 against 3.19 of RCL. High Beta indicates high volatility in the market price of the stock. In case of some adverse market conditions or due to some other eventuality the price of RCL may see the vertical fall; however, that also indicates that substantial rise in stock price is possible with

Marketing Management exam Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

Marketing Management exam - Essay Example Eight demand states in marketing of bifocal lenses are detailed below: Negative Demand: A product is said to face negative demand when a significant segment of the market dislikes it and even pays to avoid it (Kotler and Keller, 2006, p. 10). The fundamental task of marketing managers in this situation is to find out the reasons for this negative demand state to the product and take effective measures to counteract them (Sandhusen, 2000, p. 59). People in some countries have a negative demand for vaccination, but, it is very unlikely in the demand for bifocal lenses. No Demand (Nonexistent demand): When the target-market customers are unaware or are uninterested in a product, it is called no demand state (Kotler and Keller, 2006, p. 10). The main task of marketing managers in this state will be to connect potential product benefits to the needs and wants of the target-customers. This is also very unlikely in the case of demand for bifocal lenses, because, people are well aware of it. Latent Demand: It is when many prospective consumers share a strong need but that cannot be satisfied by the existing product (Kotler and Keller, 2006, p. 10). For example, demand for hair restoratives and painless diets (Sandhusen, 2000, p. 59). The marketing manager is, in this state, expected to measure the potential demand and develop products accordingly. Currently, sufficient quantities of bifocal lenses are available in the market to satisfy prospective demands for it. Latent demand is often described as a vague want (Baker, 1998, p. 80). Declining Demand: It is a state in which customers begin to buy a product less frequently or not at all (Kotler and Keller, 2006, p. 10). Even though demand for bifocal lenses is not declining, some factors can likely cause it in the future. In this case, the marketing management is responsible to analyze reasons and project better strategies to counteract the trend. Irregular Demand: This occurs when seasonal, monthly,
